Our one-on-one sessions provide the opportunity for us to create a customized training plan to help you reach your desired training goals with your dog. First, we’ll set up an initial consultation to gather all relevant information, provide instant management strategies, discuss plans and goals to move forward, and determine whether Private Training or Day Training is best suited to reach our goals.
Day Training
Day Training takes the hard work out of training your dog. If you find the training process overwhelming, have too busy of a schedule or you simply appreciate the convenience of leaving the heavy lifting to a certified, reward-based professional, this is the option for you! Drop your dog off for their individualized training lessons and then simply attend a transfer session with your dog to see their newly acquired skills and to learn how to maintain their new behaviours at home. Check out our specialized day training camps for Puppies under 18 weeks, or Adolescents (Teens) 5-24 months.
*NEW DISCOUNT PROGRAM* – Day Training 4-pack for Basic Manners with our Apprentice Trainer, Chelsea. If you are looking to implement basic manners in your puppy or dog, drop them off with our apprentice trainer to build up their foundation skills! All apprentice training sessions are supervised by a certified dog trainer. These sessions are currently held on Fridays at 2:30pm.
Approval by Authentic Canine is required prior to registering. If your dog is new to Authentic Canine, a training consultation would be the first step before moving on to this day training program.
Private Training
Private Training is a more hands-on, traditional choice which involves attending all training sessions with your dog. Owners get the benefit of more time spent with their trainer to ask questions and perfect their handling techniques, and requires more practice at home and between sessions for optimal training results. Private training is best suited for people who want skills to practice at home right away, or for dogs who are not comfortable being alone with new people.
During the initial consultation we can discuss both Private and Day training and determine the best choice for you and your dog.

Refund & Cancellation Policy
All training sessions are non-refundable. Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled up to 24 hours prior to your booking (exceptions will be made for emergencies). A credit will be issued for the full amount for approved cancellations.

Sit, down, stay, wait, leave it, crate training, recall, leash walking, anti-jump, polite greetings to people, polite greetings to dogs, eye contact, hand target and heel.

Puppy Socialization
Socializing your puppy and maximizing their positive experiences during their most impressionable stage of life. Customize your goals with the following options or let us give your puppy the full socialization experience!
Introduction to various people, walking on new surfaces, strange objects, sound sensitivity prevention, rolling objects, putting harnesses & clothing on & off comfortably, play time with puppies and/or fully vaccinated dogs with proven temperaments, body handling, cooperative care for grooming and veterinary handling, resource guarding prevention and basic life skills.

Adult Dog Socialization
Do you have an adolescent pup that missed out on socialization experiences or is simply slow to warm up to other dogs? An adult dog who is shy but curious when meeting new dogs? A small dog who you have a hard time finding safe, appropriate playmates for? Or a friendly but rambuctious dog who’s play skills are well-intentioned but over-the-top?
We can work to introduce your dog with friendly, evenly matched dogs to help them come out of their shell and gain confidence or improve on impulse control for the rowdy extrovert.
Cooperative Care for Successful Grooming and Vet Visits
Whether your dog has a pre-existing fear toward vet or grooming procedures or you just want to provide your dog with the best possible foundation to prevent concerns from later developing, cooperative grooming and vet care is a valuable skill for all dogs. Fear is easy to install and difficult to reverse, so expect that a dog with a pre-installed fear may take time to overcome those fears. We help dogs develop a positive response with strategic counter-conditioning and desensitization.
Skills may include body handling, nail trimming, brushing, bathing, blow drying, clipping, ear cleaning/drops, eye drops, muzzling and more. Let us know your specific concerns and prevention goals.
Behaviour Modification
Does your dog display fear, anxiety, reactivity or aggression? We use evidence-based desensitization and counter-conditioning to help change your dog’s negative response to triggers into a happier, more relaxed response.
Behaviours may include leash reactivity, resource guarding from humans, fear or aggresstion toward people or dogs, and body handling. If you don’t see your dog’s behaviour issue listed, contact us to find out if we can help!

All consultations, private training, and day training sessions are 45 minutes. 5% GST will be added to all packages.
Initial Training Consultation $110
A 45-minute introductory session to gather a comprehensive history of your dog’s behaviour, answer your questions, discuss and create training goals for your dog, implement immediate management strategies as needed, and in some cases, begin training.
It also provides an opportunity for your dog to meet and bond with their trainer and get acclimated to the training space.
Single Training Session $110
For existing clients who have completed their initial consultation,
4 Session Package $400
4 Private Training Sessions, or
3 Day Training Sessions + 1 Transfer Session.
